Wow. I can't even begin to tell you how I am feeling right now ... so many different emotions are bursting through the seams of my heart as I write this first post. The concept behind Cupcakes for Christ has been in existence for quite some time and my friends and I have been baking cupcakes and doing impromtu Bible studies together for years .... but today it becomes more than just a concept or a fun hobby. Today, it officially becomes part of my purpose, part of my ministry, part of my way of serving the Lord I love so deeply. Today, Cupcakes for Christ becomes a part of me.
When I woke up this morning, I was extremely anxious. I sat in bed and wondered: "will people get it?" .... "will people jump on board?" ... "am I really prepared and equipped to do this?" .... "what am I getting myself into?" .... "is this really what you want from me, Lord?" ... "is anybody going to be interested in helping me out?" ...
As all these thoughts ran through my mind, I remembered the wise words King David said to his son, Solomon: "Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you..." (1 Chronicles 28:20)
So here I am, choosing to trust in those words and march on forward with my Bible in one hand and my cooking apron in the other. I don't know what the future has in store for Cupcakes for Christ, but I hope you'll join me on this journey where ever it may lead. There are millions of people out there who need to taste and see that the Lord is good. Let's pray that Cupcakes for Christ can help them do that.
This blog is still very much a work in progress. You can expect to see lots of updates on our ministry, but we're still trying to decide what other things we should include and post here (recipes, articles, devotionals, testimonies, etc) so please send us your feedback and let us know what you'd like to read most. If Cupcakes for Christ sounds like something you'd be interested in working with, please let us know. There are tons of ways for you to get involved and we'd absolutely love to have you on board. In the meantime, feel free to browse around the site and be in touch if you have any questions or comments!
